Here at Shatto Rentals, we advertise our homes for rent on website listing sites like AirBnB, Vrbo, Booking.com and others. These sites are great to connect us with our future guests. In fact, that’s how a lot of our guests find us at first. However, whether you’re a new guest or a returning one, you can benefit from booking directly with us:
- Best Price Guarantee: you will always find the best price when booking on our website because you avoid listing site fees which can range from 10-20% off your stay.
- Return Guest Discount: for our return guests, we offer a 10% discount on your nightly rental rate. No blackout dates.
- Direct Contact: you will always speak directly to us via email or phone.
- Guest First Mentality: feel the comfort of home while you’re away from yours.
You are our guests, and we want to maintain that connection and identity independent of any other website like Airbnb or Vrbo.
All payments are processed directly on our booking website via a secure payment processor. This means your credit card details are never shared directly with us nor anyone else.
We suggest purchasing trip insurance for your reservation. This option is offered at CSA Travel Insurance You can use some of the money you save on booking directly on our website to put towards that AND STILL pocket some money for spending!
- 100% refund if cancelled 60 days prior to the Check-in Date
- 50% refund if cancelled 30 days prior to the Check-in Date
- 0% refund if cancelled 30 days or less prior to the Check-in Date
* When booking your stay , you will be asked to agree to our Terms & Conditions rental agreement.
** Note: cancellation policies DO VARY compared to listing websites like Airbnb & VRBO that require us to select one of their set policies.
What if I cancel within the “no refund” period?
- If you cancel within the period of no refund and any portion of your stay is non-refundable as outlined above, as a courtesy we will do our best to re-book the property. If we are successful, we are happy to refund you the “re-booked” value for any of the nights booked. However, there is no guarantee it will re-book for the same number of nights at the same rate as we would have to discount rates closer to arrival dates.
We hope you, too feel this is a fair balance and if so, then we would be honored to host you.
Cancellations and the necessary efforts to re-book them are a lot of work for us and block the calendar from other potential guests who may have booked the property while it was blocked for your reservation. Because we hold to our cancellation policies, we recommend trip insurance, especially a Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR) policy upon the confirmation of every booking – trust us, we’ve traveled enough ourselves to know that unfortunately, you have to expect the unexpected.
All of our vacation rentals have unique features, amenities, and locations. It is best to know what you want to do while you visit. If you want to visit the sites be sure to get times of operation and note that weather conditions change rapidly so dress in layers. If you like walking to restaurants and shopping then your rental should be within walking distance to downtown.
Check out amenities and features in the descriptions before hand and if you are not seeing something that is important to you ask the host as they are not only helpful but want to exceed your expectations.
We know that when you want to kickback and relax you might want to watch your favorite series or movie so we provide streaming with your login and WiFi free of charge.

The town’s founder, Hugh Comstock, wanted to create a European-style village in the heart of California, and he felt that street lights would detract from the town’s charm and character. Additionally, the lack of street lights helps to preserve the town’s dark skies, which are ideal for stargazing.

Despite it’s infamous ice cream regulation history, Carmel does indeed allow the sale of ice cream and ice cream cones by its restaurants and businesses. It was once lawed in Carmel that ice cream cone sales were prohibited due to the sticky nature of fallen ice cream on sidewalks and roads. However, thanks to one of Carmel’s previous mayors, Clint Eastwood, this rule was overturned in 1986, allowing visitors of Carmel to enjoy ice cream without breaking the law!
